NCP MELA

1st December 2012 is a great memorable day in the annals of FIDES (Family integral development education Scheme) being the 1st NCP MELA conducted in our FIDES centre; Bandapura Bangalore-49.104 NCP children and the staff participated in the NCP Mela. The purpose of the mela was to provide an opportunity to NCP children to come together and share with one another their experience. This occasion helped them to enrich themselves and refresh their knowledge on NCP especially the role of leaders. It was a day of celebration.

The programme began with prayer Dance invoking God’s blessings. Each NCP group performed one item. Sr. Alice Chacko- our vice provincial, Sr. Anna . T –CDEW Director, Mr. Shiva Ram – Director of Shakthi Kendra were the dignitaries on the Dias. Sr. Anna .T, stressed on children’s right choices in life and future. She highlighted the role of NCP, in children’s life and how it should help the  child to open their  eyes to the social realities around.  Mr. Shiva Ram appreciated our presence in Kaverinagar and told that the face of the Kaverinagar has  changed through your intervention. What big people could not do, your NCP children were able to achieve, in stopping the wine shop .Mr. Sinu Mathew staff of CDEW explained about the objectives of NCP and inspiration to start NCP quoting Dr. Rajendra Prasad words “Destiny of India lays in the Present Class room”. Mr. Praveen staff of CDEW told the children how to be Successful in life. The presence of the sisters added encouragement to the NCP children. Meaningful skit, songs, and dances related to social issues were staged by the children. We also provided them meals and snacks.

Sr. Leema dealt with the role of NCP ministers also what they can do in their own area as NCP member. Along with learning about children’s parliament the children learned many things by interacting with one another. Children also shared their achievements of parliaments in the past like providing the people with street light, cleaning the surroundings, stopping the wine shop, planting the saplings etc. We conducted some game and distributed prizes. Thanked everyone who helped to make this day a memorable one.

We owe much to Sr. Anna. T for being inspiration and motivating force  behind this NCP mela. At the end of the day children were tired but their joy was unbounded.
